We could not be happier with 1812 Hitching Post for our 9-20-2020 wedding! I am the type of person who is very detail oriented and Wendy and her team exceeded my expectations! Cake- the cake was DELICIOUS and beautiful. I found a picture on her website of one I liked and they made mine look similar with cute flower details added! We had buttercream with strawberry filling and marble with chocolate filling. The cake was a hit. It was moist and just sweet enough without being too sweet. Food- we loved the buffet style and being able to chose between so many options for the menu! The food was delicious, especially the mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. Decor- this was my favorite part by far! I loved how Wendy has so many decor options already for us to choose from. We bought florist flowers and combined those with lots of Wendy’s items- lanterns, candles, silk flowers, etc. it turned out beautifully. I loved how she executed my vision and I didn’t have to stress at all the day of. Wendy and her team set everything up, even the few decor items we brought. Everything was beautiful. Customer service- Wendy was always quick to respond to my many questions! She had great ideas and she as very patient with me. All of the staff the day of was kind and accommodating. She uses a checklist that you fill out at least a month before the wedding day, and it’s so organized and gives you peace of mind that everyone will be on the same page and everything will be how you want it on your wedding day. Overall it was a perfect day! 10/10 would recommend for someone who wants to have a beautiful day with less stress than other venues. We LOVED that 1812 was basically all inclusive. It took so much stress off of us and helped us to enjoy our engagement and then our big day. The only thing is I wish we could relive the day over and over!! It flew by! WOW! First and foremost, I have to say I truly do not believe my husband and I could have gotten married in 2020 if it weren't for Wendy, her team, and the 1812 Hitching Post! Many people have told us "I don't know how y'all managed to plan a wedding during a pandemic", but all the credit goes to Wendy. Wendy was so helpful throughout the planning process and happily answered my 1000 questions. Additionally, Wendy nailed my "vision" without much planning on my part. She was so sweet and welcoming from the first time I met her! Wendy's team was also phenomenal. The officiant kept the ceremony short and to the point while also engaging the guests (and getting a few laughs out of them!). The DJ kept the party going and was so friendly to all our guests. He cracked many jokes and was easy to talk to. Many guests raved about him! Additionally, the bartender was wonderful. She also made personal connections to wedding guests and was friendly but professional. The additional staff including set up/clean up crew were also friendly and welcoming. Lastly, our cake was PHENEMONAL (coming from a person who doesn’t like sweets!). As for the day of the wedding, I did not have to worry about a SINGLE thing. I know joke "showed up" and did not question ceremony set up, reception set up, decorations, or anything as I witnessed Wendy's team set up early day of. When I tell you they have it down to a science, they do! It was incredible to watch. I would classify myself as a "type A" person but had no stress or worries on the day of my wedding which is so unheard of. One thing I would recommend would to be rent the guest cottage. A handful of my bridesmaids and I stayed in the guest cottage the night before, and my husband and I stayed there the night of. My girls and I did our hair and makeup together prior to moving to the Main house which gave the groom and groomsman a wonderful area to get ready! I would recommend the 1812 Hitching Post to anyone! We had the most wonderful experience, and I could not imagine celebrating the most important day of my life any other way. Thanks to Wendy and her team for everything! Adam and I are so appreciative!

This post is long overdue but if I were to summarize this venue into a couple of words it would be excellent, quality and memorable. If you are looking for an outside venue, then look no further. This place without a doubt has everything you need and makes wedding planning a lot easier for bride and groom. For a very reasonable price, Wendy was able to cater my food, have my DJ and fix the whole venue. You won't find anyone that can beat her price! The pictures here are absolutely phenomenal! Thank you Wendy, for everything you did for us! Getting married in the middle of a pandemic was not what I envisioned, but Wendy worked with us until it happened. This is the spot folks!

I recently got married here and I cant tell you how happy I was with how everything turned out. Wendy was amazing and is very down to earth. She makes you feel special, welcomed and she didnt make us feel rushed in any way. She took so many pictures and I cant wait to see them. I would hands down recommend this place to get married or have any event at. The property is amazing and beautiful. I am so glad I found this place. You will not be disappointed. My husband and I decided to have a smaller, more intimate wedding of about 25 people and opted for a package that allowed for 20 people and around 5 hours of venue time. From the start, Wendy was diligent in her responses and presented all packages and options clearly with leaving room for customization wherever needed. She has an array of wedding packages that range from couple only elopements to weekend- long events, most of them being all-inclusive packages, and all of them being fantastically affordable! She honestly made deciding to get married here an effortless decision and was an immense joy to plan the wedding with throughout the process. She constantly kept my vision and priorities at heart when creating our unforgettable day. She got excited with me and I genuinely felt her happiness for my finace' and I. This esteemed lady and her family are the type of people who just love weddings! From the food, to the DJ to the coordination and photography; her team ensured every single part of the package was done to perfection and I worried about nothing except getting pretty and getting married. We just got our photos back almost two weeks after the wedding and they are phenomenal! :)))) If you're in the market, the venue speaks for itself on their site's photos... She has a perfect location indoor and out. The entire staff was very polite and pleasant. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day. Not to mention a better price. We are already talking about renewing vows down the road just because we had so much fun on our wedding day… that’s all thanks to Mrs. Wendy, Rev. Waldron and their team at 1812, for the best day we could have envisioned and will remember for the rest of our lives.

Such a beautiful venue! Wendy has been nothing short of amazing to work with thru this process. My husband and I wanted a small simple wedding with about 30 guest. We started planning just about a year in advance and of course we picked a date that happened to fall right in the middle of a pandemic [COVID19]. Even through all of this Wendy has been right there to help me stay positive, answered every question I have had in a timely manner and even made the date that we had originally picked happen with a very intimate ceremony with just us and our parents so we could adhere to the under 10 people set forth by NC Governor. We can not wait to do "I Do" part 2 at The Hitching Post! If you are looking for a place to have your wedding this is a great option to look into... there are so many options no matter what you are looking for Wendy will do what she can to make it happen. It definitely took the stress of planning a wedding to a simple and wonderful experience for us.

So happy we found and chose the hitching post for our wedding venue in January 2019. I love that everything is handled for you and that meant less stress and worry for the bride and groom. This is a beautiful venue and so many choices were available. Wendy was so easy to work with and handled everything for us. Wendy was WONDERFUL; warm, kind and so happy to have us! They made our elopement so special despite the small size of it (6 people in total). Great communication, very accommodating and beautiful decorations and design. The grounds were breathtaking and made for amazing wedding portraits. The venue is perfect for any size wedding. We booked without seeing it in person and i will never regret it. We will definitely rent out their little cottage in the back in the future. Do not hesitate to book here!

My Husband and I got married at the 1812 Hitching Post on 11/3/19, and I have nothing but incredible things to say about our experience. The venue itself is beautiful and whimsical - nestled in the countryside. After a few minutes of being on-property during our initial visit, we knew this was where we wanted to host our wedding day. We had a small wedding, 14 people total, but we never once felt like a small fish in a big pond. The venue is incredibly versatile, and has options for both large and small weddings. Wendy was a dream to work with, and was so kind and lovely during the entire process! She was extremely welcoming and warm to both of our families and our friends who attended our wedding, and ensured everything was taken care of so that I could enjoy being on a cloud on the big day vs. being stuck in the details. Patrick, Wendy's Husband, was the officiant for our ceremony - and he conducted everything so beautifully. Our ceremony was heartfelt and emotional, and we're so glad to have had Patrick to guide us through. The 1812 staff were all so kind and sweet, and the DJ was absolutely fantastic. All of our ceremony music went off perfectly, and he played all of our suggestions and kept with the theme for the entire evening. Our friends and family had a fantastic time! As a professional event planner for my career, it is hard to hand over all of the details - especially on such a personal day. However, I had complete trust and faith in Wendy! She and her team paid attention to every detail, and truly brought the vision of our wedding to life. I couldn't have asked for a better venue, team to work with, or experience overall. It was incredible to have 90% of the details taken care of/included with the venue, which is not something you will find often. I feel so lucky to have found the 1812 Hitching Post for our wedding day, and we will forever fondly remember the incredible memories made there.
