Yesterday my wife and I did the videography for a wedding at The Hitching Post. Our experience was very positive! Wendy was never not moving from directing her team, to decorating, to asking vendors if she could do anything to help, etc. She allowed me to fly my drone where needed and even orchestrated some shots where we gathered all the attendees together. She offered to let me plug my mics into their system for audio and showed me outlets where I could charge my gear. On top of this great customer service, it's simply a beautiful venue with so many cute antiques in the house. Five stars! My wife and I hope to return to The Hitching Post for more videos! :)

A very old plantation house that has been restored. If you enjoy looking at old historical places you'll enjoy checking this place out. They did a really good job hosting the wedding we attended.

This is a one-stop shop for all of your wedding day needs, we were able to get our catering, DJ, chairs, tent, officiant, and wedding planner in our wedding package at a GREAT price. Worried about rain? You can rest at ease when you book with Wendy. It POURED on our wedding day but Wendy and her team were ready to move things inside if the weather didn’t act right, thankfully it held off just long enough to do the ceremony and some pictures! My husband and I are so glad we chose Wendy and the 1812 Hitching Post staff.

We had our wedding here 3 years ago and had the best experience. I am just in love with this place, and I am always quick to brag about it. Wendy was great and so helpful as we planned a small private elopement, she worked out the minor details and let us just enjoy our intimate wedding.

Of all the places we checked out for our 20 year anniversary vow renewal ceremony. We landed in the 1812 Hitching Post. Wendy and her staff we amazing from the very beginning to the last goodbye of the evening. If there was a question Wendy or her crew had an answer. If you needed something it was there. The 1812 Hitching post is a quiet and away from the city location. If your looking for a private away from the big city lights, this is the place to go. When we do it for a third time, in 10 years it will be right here with Wendy and the crew at the Hitching post.

Communicating with the venue a couple of months ago about this wedding venue has been nothing but a pleasant and sweet experience! My fiance and I have since postponed our wedding due to covid still not going away, but I look forward to booking this place in the near future. The reception area is gorgeous, leaves tons of room for your own personalization and with all of the outdoor nature- our photos are going to look just so stunning. Would recommend getting in touch with the venue directly, you won't regret it :)

My husband and I flew out for a friend’s wedding, neither of us were familiar with the area nor the venue. Being city people, we weren’t sure what to expect. Our very first impression, before even exiting our car was, wow, just wow. What beautiful grounds, well kept, warm and welcoming. As we approached, we were greeted by a huge, friendly smile, followed up with a delicious glass of wine. As we explored more, before the ceremony, we were amazed at how clean the inside was. The staff went out of their way to ensure we were having a great time. The food was great, I typically dislike wedding food but the chicken was delicious and very generous portions. The cake was beautiful, fresh and also delicious. Music was on point, in fact I believe we stayed an hour past rental time. I don’t think I’ve ever had this much fun at a wedding. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff for making our good friend’s day even more special than we could have imagined. A+

I attended a wedding for my friend there in March. I flew in and didn’t know what to expect. Everything went great- professional staff - lovely venue. Rustic with charm. Due to COVID-19, my husband and I chose to elope at the 1812 Hitching Post in January 2021. It couldn't have been a better experience! Because our elopement package was all-inclusive, it was a stress-free event. Instead of stressing over little details, we could relax and focus on the commitment we were making to each other. Wendy was a joy to work with! She was an excellent communicator prior to the event, and she answered all of my questions quickly and professionally. She greeted us with open arms upon our arrival to the house, and she put us both at ease as we prepared to get married. We are both camera-shy, but she made the photography afterwards fun! We got so many amazing shots that capture our sheer joy on that day. Also, the property was beautiful! If we had to do it all over again, we wouldn't change a thing! I highly recommend the 1812 Hitching Post for all types of weddings. You won't have a better experience anywhere else!

"In a year of chaos from a pandemic, our wedding at 1812 Hitchings Post could not have been more perfect. Wendy and her staff truly have the whole stress free all-inclusive wedding package down to the science. I had so many worries and it's not easy for us to let others just take the reign but it could not have been more perfect and all we had to do was show up and enjoy our day because they had everything else handled. The arbor was decorated more beautifully than I could have imagined. All the decor down to the small detail was perfectly set up to our vision of our day. Her staff was so kind and helpful. With all our precautions put in place everyone felt safe and it felt like a normal day where no one was worried about a virus. The food was amazing and her husband made a beautiful cake. My husband and I had a simple and romantic wedding at the 1812 Hitching Post earlier this month. The venue is a blend of Southern history, simplicity and country charm. Wendy was gracious and accomodating and all we had to do was show up! The home was decorated beautifully for Christmas, the cake was delicious, and the photography was outstanding. Wendy made our wedding day a dream come true!! If you are planning a wedding, I highly recommend 1812 Hitching Post. We also had our catering and cake done by them; everyone is still talking about how delicious everything was. I can't think of a better wedding venue, especially at the prices they offer. Wendy and her staff were absolutely wonderful. I got married in October and I wouldn't have changed a thing. The last month of planning got especially hectic on my end with complicated family dynamics but Wendy was always quick in responding to my emails and open to accommodations. On the wedding day itself I could not have been more grateful to her and her team. On one occasion a staff member helped fan the train of my dress (it was for a picture right before I walked down the isle so my bridesmaids were gone.), and another member helped with my shoe after I had my first dance. Wendy also did an excellent job at making sure everything was running smoothly and nothing was forgotten. They made our day a dream come true and I would highly recommend them for your big day!
