We live approximately 5 hours away from this venue...I had never heard of it prior to booking it. I was searching for an experience that would be all inclusive and allow us to just show up, yet still have fun celebrating. I wanted a non-stressful day, a day that I could just enjoy...a day that my family and friends could just spend time with us and enjoy before the wedding as well. We love DIY things; however, I wanted this to be different. We have the best family and friends in the world who would have stayed up all night the night before decorating if we asked them to; however, with the 1812 Hitching Post we didn’t have to! I didn’t see the venue before I booked it, I just booked it by the photos and reviews I was able to find online. Sure there were a few negative reviews that made me a little timid about it, but man am I so glad I didn’t let them stop me! From the very beginning Wendy took time on the phone to answer every question I had, allowed payments to be made which kept it affordable, and she was quick to respond to any text message or email I sent. She prefers email communication so she can keep track of everything leading up to the day. About a month prior to the wedding she sends a sheet for you to answer questions of what you want and how you want it. They have beautiful decor to select from...most pictured online! We gave her a list of songs (some not so popular) and picked a cake style displayed on their website. I literally showed up the evening of our wedding. JUST SHOWED UP!!!!! Wendy and her husband are so sweet and accommodating. The home and landscaping are just breathtaking. It is an older home so don’t expect perfection, expect unbelievable history and character. Our package included the decor for both the ceremony and reception (we only provided a couple flowers and small things), the officiant, DJ, cake, bartender, and food. The decor, perfection. The staff are just the sweetest and so professional! The food...DELICIOUS!!! The DJ, that man kept the party going until the moment we left!!!! The cake, beautiful and so tasty!!! The bartenders, kept the drinks coming and were so respectful of everyone. If you’re wondering if you should go with this venue, please do! You won’t regret it. I had the most relaxing seamless day...and that would not have been possible without Wendy, her husband and her staff. Wendy, from the bottom of my heart....thank you. I swear (not just because it was our wedding)....that was the best, most fun wedding I’ve been to in my life. Our guests raved about you guys!

My best friend booked the 1812 Hitching Post for her wedding. She had told me months ago when she booked it to look it up. When I looked it up it looked beautiful, but nothing does it justice until you see it in person. It truly is so gorgeous there. The owners (Wendy and her husband) were SO accommodating. They were very relaxed but had handled everything. They did all of the catering, set up, arranged the DJ, and recommended a photographer (Taylor was her name). I have never seen a wedding go off completely without a hitch, but I’ll be daggon if this venue’s owners and their staff didn’t make it an absolutely PERFECT day for the bride and groom. The house was so pretty inside, there were plenty of bathrooms for the wedding party to use before, during, and after the wedding. There isn’t central air in the house, but in the rooms which the groomsmen and bridal party were getting ready in, there were window units. Wendy and her husband was SO GOOD about instructing us on what to do and when. We literally had to worry about nothing. Very organized group! It seems that they really truly care about the bride and groom. When the bride and groom were cutting the cake, I looked over and Wendy was watching with so much joy and happiness. She was clearly enjoying this wonderful moment between two people who didn’t seem like strangers to her in that moment. It was a beautiful thing to observe, I just wish that the bride and groom could have also seen that. I have zero complaints about this location and the staff. Only positive things to say about this venue. I told Wendy that I’d like to come back and go out to dinner with them! Highly recommend this venue!!!

Wendy the owner was very kind, thoughtful, very accommodating and willing to work with us to meet our needs, and has such a beautiful venue. Whenever I had a question, she would get back to me in a timely manner and stayed by our side even on the day of the wedding (she is pictured below pinning on the boutonnieres). My ceremony was everything and turned out perfect! I loved the decorations, which if you choose to use them are provided by the venue. It was a beautiful day in the garden. The weather was perfect. My reception was tented. The cake was provided by Wendy. They even provided the linen as well. The staff was friendly and helpful if we needed anything. The DJ was great and played a good variety of songs. I will continue to refer this place my friends looking for a venue. This is a true gem tuck away but not too far from the grid. One an hour from Charlotte. Hotels were close by in Statesville, NC.

I had the pleasure of having my special day at the 1812 Hitching Post on June 5th, 2019. My love and I opted for the traditional elopement package. And all we had to do was show up. Wendy and her staff were wonderful. We did not meet until the day of our wedding and I felt like I knew her. It was absolutely beautiful and very memorable. I would recommend anyone to book your wedding at this whimsical venue. Whether you are planning a large wedding or a small intimate one, you will not be disappointed. And my wedding photos taken by Wendy herself are absolutely perfect and flawless.

1812 Hitching Post Weddings made our wedding day so special without all of the added stress of a traditional wedding. I am so thankful we found this beautiful venue. They not only take care of the pictures, but also decorations plus music. If needed. they take care of the cake (which was absolutely delicious, not to mention they have so many flavors to chose from) as well as catering!!! This is truly a beautiful place for a wedding whether it be an elopement, small or large wedding along with an after party or reception! For anyone that is looking for a beautiful venue to get married, I would definitely recommend 1812 Hitching Post Weddings. Also,it takes so much of the stress of planning that perfect wedding. My husband and I chose the 1812 Hitching Post for our very small wedding of 18 guests and it was absolutely perfect! I am hardly a fussy bride and with a baby on the way, we had to plan the wedding quickly! From finding this wonderful venue to wedding date was right about three months, and I was very pleased with the outcome. Wendy was amazing from start to finish! She is very detail oriented and really went out of her way to make our day as special as it could be. Our simple outdoor ceremony took place on the side lawn and was perfect! Just a short walk down the path and across the lawn to the ceremony space next to a beautiful old tree. After a short photo session we went to the small indoor reception area as it was too cold that day to truly enjoy the outside tent space. The food was delicious! We had the bacon wrapped pork tenderloin and everyone thoroughly enjoyed it. I would say this portion of the wedding holds my only slight complaint. After each person got their plate from the buffet, the food was quickly whisked away before anyone could potentially have seconds. Again, this was a very minor detail as we knew we only had the space for a limited time due to the nature of our very small wedding. We also really enjoyed the cake which was also provided by the Hitching Post. Wendy served as not only as our coordinator, helping to choose appropriate table decor as well as ceremony decor, but she was also our wedding photographer! The packages they offer for all inclusive weddings are very well thought out as well as quite custom. Wendy made sure every detail was just as we desired for our special day. We received our pictures this week and were extremely pleased! I've attached a few to show off her work. It was simple and clean and we love them! All in all, I would highly recommend this venue for anyone planning any size wedding. The facility was just enough and photographed beautifully as well as the food being delicious and the scenery was delightful. Thank you to everyone at the 1812 Hitching Post for a perfect wedding day!

I had a small intimate elopement/wedding with close family. It was the best day, and I honestly couldn't have imagined it any better. Wendy was great to work with. Her photography was beautiful. The location was the perfect mix of vintage/country but still formal. No stress of trying to get a photographer, officiant, etc. I have recommended this venue to all my friends. Thanks Wendy!!

I would put 10 stars if I could. Like any bride I wanted the perfect venue without breaking the bank. I found the 1812 hitching post while researching a few dozen venues. The website was very easy to navigate, the pictures were beautiful, and the owner (Wendy) was very informative. It just so happened my fiancé and I were driving by the area where the venue was located so I called Wendy to see if my fiancé and I could take a look. I had an immediate response and she was very laid back. She allowed us to stop by and look at everything. It was so beautiful! She allowed us to look at the entire property by ourselves and then told us if we were interested we could come ask questions inside the house. We loved the beauty of the property and had questions ready. We found Wendy inside. She sat us down and showed us pictures of previous weddings, gave us prices (that were unbelievable for everything that was included!) and answered all of our questions. We were not pushed to make any decisions. She gave us all of the information and told us to contact her if we were interested. We got in the car and talked over everything on the way home. We decided to say yes and I am so very thankful we did. Wendy ALWAYS answered any questions I had. She even helped me take the package I selected and make it unique and my own. She was there every step of the way. There was an easy checklist she allowed me to fill out. Months leading up to the day she reminded me of when payments were due, when certain things needed to be picked, etc. I was allowed to come the day before the wedding to drop things off and take a sneak peak. As always, she answered all last minute questions. She was very sweet and so pleasant. On the day of the wedding the next day I was stress free!!! I arrived and went to the bridal sweet. Everyone was putting everything together while I enjoyed an hour and a half with my closest girlfriends and family members in my bridal sweet. She made sure we knew when the time was getting close, when to go down the aisle, when we wanted to enter the reception, and when the end of the reception was getting near. Wendy also made sure all of my things to take back were wrapped and ready for my maid of honor and family to take after myself and the groom were sent off. I am so thankful to have been able to have the wedding of my dreams without going broke. This was a magical day that I will never forget and I promise you I will always look back and be able to cherish everything from the start of planning to our send off. I would not have changed a single thing!! Wendy and her staff were beyond amazing and I can’t put into words how thankful I am. I’m so very happy my wedding was at this venue!!

I can not say enough about how much we loved having our wedding at the 1812 Hitching Post. From the very first contact inquiry when searching for a venue, until after the wedding, Wendy has gone above and beyond in making sure our wedding exceeded our expectations. She went above and beyond in the communication/planning, attention to detail, sincerity and care, and I could continue. I had many specific needs and requests and she worked tirelessly to make my dreams come true! We had to even battle a hurricane in the middle of our wedding and it was still absolutely perfect.
